Vietnam's fast-growing expat communities have brought a healthy crop of British and Irish pubs to its main cities. Ho Chi Minh City has the widest choice, especially in District 1, Thao Dien and around Bui Vien, while Hanoi's Old Quarter and Tay Ho (West Lake) neighbourhoods have pubs that are popular with teachers, NGO workers and long-term residents.

Da Nang and Nha Trang have smaller but friendly pub scenes that serve beach-going visitors. Local beer is very cheap, and many British and Irish pubs combine it with imported ales, stouts and a menu of pub classics.
