The Mad Den is an expat-run Irish bar on An Thuong 8, in the walkable grid of bars and cafés behind My Khe beach. Its walls are painted green and red and covered with a map of Ireland, a map of Vietnam, crossed Irish and Vietnamese flags, framed photos and beer signs, and there is a terrace out front.
Guinness is the signature pour, with Jameson and Bushmills behind the bar and local beers for those on a budget. The pub menu runs to burgers, fish and chips, Irish stew, pies, steaks and a full Irish breakfast.
Screens show Premier League and Champions League football as well as Gaelic football, hurling, rugby, NFL and Aussie rules, and there is a dartboard, a pool table and air hockey. Live music and pub quizzes feature, and St Patrick's Day is a big night. Dogs are welcome. It opens daily from 5pm until 2am.
