Cheers is a no-frills British pub on Nguyen Thien Thuat, a couple of blocks back from Tran Phu and the beach in central Nha Trang. Owner Andy, from Wales, describes it plainly as not a five-star establishment, and its long run of strong reviews from expats and holidaymakers comes down to friendly service, cold drinks and generous plates.
The kitchen is the big draw. The full English breakfast is a fixture from 9am, and Sunday brings a roast with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and vegetables. Cottage pie, schnitzel, burgers, pizza, chicken wings and onion rings fill out the rest of the menu.
Screens around the room cover the Premier League, rugby, horse racing and international tournaments, with the green chairs and football shirts giving it a clubhouse feel. It is closed on Tuesdays, last food orders are at 9.30pm and it is cash only.
