The Tavern Phu My Hung

The Tavern has served the Phu My Hung expat community for years from a corner unit on Phan Khiem Ich, with a covered pavement terrace out front and a bar inside decked out with a Union Jack ceiling and screens for the football.

Carlsberg is the house draught, and from Monday to Friday it is buy-one-get-one-free between 5pm and 7pm. The kitchen turns out classic pub grub and Western plates, and on Sundays the roast pork comes with crispy skin, roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables and gravy. Tuesday brings a pizza deal and Thursday a cocktail offer.

Pool is taken seriously: there is an open tournament every Wednesday and the Saigon Pool League plays here on Thursdays. Sunday evenings switch to a Latin social dance night with a free bachata class before open dancing. It opens from 11am, so it also works as a lunch stop for District 7 residents.
