Hong Kong Island

Hong Kong Island is where the city's pub culture began. Lan Kwai Fong and Soho in Central are packed with Irish bars and British pubs that spill onto the street on busy nights, while Wan Chai has a grittier, late-opening scene with some of Hong Kong's longest-running sports pubs. Further east, Quarry Bay and Sai Wan Ho have quieter locals, and Stanley on the south side has seaside pubs for a weekend pint by the water.

Expect stout, British ales, pub quizzes and packed houses for the Premier League, Six Nations and the Hong Kong Sevens.
