Thailand is home to more British and Irish pubs than almost anywhere else in Asia, thanks to millions of visitors from the UK and Ireland each year and a large community of expats and retirees. Bangkok's Sukhumvit Road is lined with British pubs, Irish bars and sports pubs, from dark-wood Victorian-style taverns to lively bars that open early for the Premier League.

Pattaya, Phuket and Koh Samui all have a strong British pub scene too, with full English breakfasts, Sunday roasts and live football as standard. Hua Hin and Chiang Mai offer quieter, more relaxed pubs popular with long-stay visitors, and many serve pies, fish and chips and bangers and mash that would not look out of place back home.
