Tully's sits by That Luang Lake, a short ride from the centre. The building has a green, Guinness-branded frontage, a terrace with fairy lights and a big car park out front, which makes it easy for groups. It is one of the very few Irish-branded pubs in Laos.
The bar is the main event: Guinness on draught, Beerlao and Beerlao Dark at friendly prices with a 4–8pm happy hour, and a whisky shelf that the venue puts at more than 50 Scotch and Irish bottles. The kitchen does burgers, a beef pie topped with mash and pizza, plus Lao and Thai dishes that regulars rate highly.
Be aware that it has shifted towards a busy local night out, with Lao-Thai live bands and a young crowd, so it gets loud later on. Go early in the evening for a quieter pint or a match. St Patrick's Day here is a proper party.
