The Welsh Consulate is the second bar from Ross Clarke (from Caernarfon) and Luke Jones (from Swansea), the pair behind the Welsh Embassy in Bassac Lane. It opened in Toul Tom Poung on St David's Day weekend, with a shopfront banner reading 'Y Gonsyliaeth' and dragons on most walls.

The pitch is simple: a cosy room, fair prices and drinks you rarely see in Cambodia, including Welsh beers and Penderyn whisky alongside local draught. Reviewers mention cheap shot nights and owners happy to open early for big rugby fixtures, and a pub quiz has run here too.

It's a good fit for Russian Market residents after a relaxed pint, rugby fans and anyone curious about a Welsh pub abroad. The space is small and some guests note that smoking indoors is tolerated, so pick a terrace stool if that matters to you.
