The Fire Station

The Fire Station has been one of Sanur's favourite places for a drink and a proper meal for years. It sits at the end of Jl. Danau Poso, just off the main Jl. Danau Tamblingan strip, with a busy front balcony and an air-conditioned, leather-lined dining room whose walls are covered in classic celebrity portraits.

It is more upmarket gastropub than spit-and-sawdust local. The Sunday roast is the big draw, with roast chicken, lamb, pork and beef Wellington served with Yorkshire puddings and all the trimmings, and there is a Wednesday steak night plus pies such as shepherd's pie. The wine list is unusually good for Bali, and Firefly, the cocktail bar upstairs, stays open later.

There are big screens for the sport and live music some evenings. It opens at noon most days and from 4pm on Mondays.
