Brunei

Brunei is a dry country: the sale and public consumption of alcohol are banned. Non-Muslim visitors may bring a limited duty-free allowance for private consumption, but there are no public pubs or bars in the Western sense.

For expats based in Bandar Seri Begawan, the nearest pubs are across the border in Miri, Sarawak, or in Labuan and Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia. Social clubs and private venues may occasionally host events; we will add suitable listings here if any become available.
