The Rosemary

The Rosemary is a British-style gastropub tucked into the lower ground floor of RDTX Square, the former Standard Chartered tower, on Jl. Prof. Dr. Satrio in the Karet Semanggi business district. It has a bright, airy room with a proper bar, and it does a steady trade in after-work drinks.

The menu is one of the more genuinely British in Jakarta: beer-battered fish and chips, Scotch eggs, toad in the hole, beef Wellington and an all-day breakfast, alongside burgers, pastas and Indonesian favourites. Beers run from local Bintang to German draught, with after-work drinks deals.

A word of warning for purists: live bands play some nights, and late in the evening the pub ventures into karaoke, which is a little out of keeping with a traditional British pub. Go earlier for the pub experience. It is closed on Sundays.
