Shamrock Surabaya is the third branch of the Shamrock group, which started in Tebet, Jakarta in 2017. It is on Jalan Raya Kupang Indah in Dukuh Pakis, West Surabaya, close to the Java Paragon hotel. As with the Jakarta branches, it is not an authentic Irish pub: it is a stylish, busy local bar and restaurant with an Irish theme, and it gets louder as the night goes on. But it is the closest thing to an Irish pub you will find in the city.
The space is large, with an ornate indoor bar and dining room and a leafy, glass-roofed outdoor courtyard. The menu mixes western dishes such as steak, pasta and pizza with Indonesian favourites; there is no pork on the menu. Bintang comes ice-cold on draught and by the jug, alongside cocktails and coffee.
It opens from 11am for lunch and coffee, with live bands and DJs at night. It closes at 2am on weekdays and 3am at weekends.
