The Samui Shamrock is a green-fronted Irish pub and grill on the main street through Lamai. It opens from 9am, so it serves as a breakfast stop and afternoon pint spot as well as an evening bar, with a long counter, dining tables and a pool table inside.
Guinness, Kilkenny and Magners are poured on draught, and happy hour runs from 3pm to 9pm. The food covers Western pub staples and Thai dishes, and roast dinners with Yorkshire pudding appear on the weekend menu.
Music is the main draw: the resident band plays rock and pop from the 1980s to the present every night except Sunday, starting around 9:30pm, and the place stays open until 2am. Televisions carry the big sporting fixtures earlier in the evening.
