O'Malley's sits in a small square just off Chang Klan Road, by the Anusarn market at the southern end of the Night Bazaar. It is a compact, dark-wood room with a long bar and stools, a handy retreat from the market stalls and a regular haunt for British and Irish visitors.
Guinness is poured on draught, with Magners and Strongbow ciders also behind the bar. The menu is long, covering Irish stew, steaks, chicken, chips and gravy and other pub standards, plus Thai dishes, and the pub has a reputation for regular Guinness promotions.
Football plays on the TVs and the free pool table rarely sits idle. It opens from 9am until 1am every day, so it works equally for a late breakfast, an afternoon pint or a nightcap after the market, and there are a few tables outside.
