Mulligan's opened in Permas Jaya in 2007 and bills itself as the first Irish-themed pub in Johor Bahru. The bright blue-and-yellow shophouse front leads into a dark-wood bar hung with framed football shirts, flags and pub memorabilia.
Guinness, Kilkenny and Strongbow are on draught alongside the usual lagers. The menu mixes Western comfort food with Italian and Asian dishes. Irish beef stew, lamb shank and pies are the dishes regulars recommend, and the pub has advertised a Sunday roast. Reviewers find the food more consistent than the service, which some describe as uneven.
A pool table and TV screens make it a neighbourhood spot for watching football over a pint. It opens in the late afternoon and stays open until 1am. One 2025 reviewer reported that cashless payment was not accepted, so bring cash. It is handy for Permas Jaya residents and for anyone crossing from Pasir Gudang or the eastern side of JB.
