MacGregor's

MacGregor's bills itself as a traditional Irish pub and is Johor Bahru's best-known, on Jalan Trus in the city centre, a short hop from the causeway and the JB Sentral checkpoint. It is a lively, friendly place with a long bar, a stage and a loyal following among JB locals, expats and Singaporeans over for the evening.

Draught beers, including stout, are the main draw, with a menu of pub grub and local dishes. The resident live band plays most nights and can take requests for almost anything, and big matches are shown on the screens.

It opens from 4pm daily, until midnight or 1am at weekends. Tables get reserved early on busy nights, so it is worth booking.
