Eastern Promise

Eastern Promise has been a fixture of the Kemang expat scene since 1989, and it still feels like a proper British local: a busy front bar, a restaurant, a sports room with pool tables and a beer garden where the bands play.

Draught Heineken and Bintang are joined by Guinness from a microdraught system. The kitchen leans British-Indian, so expect tikka masala and rogan josh alongside bangers and mash and burgers, with a roast at weekends.

Big matches are screened throughout, and the weekly line-up includes a pub quiz, a curry night and regular live music. Open from mid-afternoon on weekdays and from noon at weekends, until the small hours.
